Have you ever had to recreate a macro or trigger in your production Zendesk instance that another user deleted? This manual work is not just essentially grunt work - redoing what you’ve already done in the past - but it’s also prone to error, as most manual patch work is. With a new feature in Salto you will be able to restore the lost configuration without having to redo any of the work manually.
If you use Salto for Zendesk configuration management, you probably already monitor changes in your configurations and are able to get alerts when someone makes a change to a certain element in your configuration, like getting alerts when someone changes something in one of your triggers.
With the new “Restore to a previous version” you are able to take a look at a previous version of your configuration, see your element prior to the unwanted change, and simply restore it, thus essentially undoing the unplanned change to your trigger in just a few clicks.
Here’s a 2-minute video from Salto’s CE Scott Dixon showing exactly this flow: learn about an unwanted change through your existing Salto monitoring setup, and then undo the change (in this case a complete deletion), by restoring your configuration to a previous version. Check it out:
This restore functionality is not merely about correcting errors; it's about equipping Zendesk administrators with the capability to swiftly rectify inadvertent changes, thereby maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of your customer support framework.
The more dynamic and complex your support environment is, the more value you’re most likely to get from using “Restore from previous version”, thus ensuring you’re managing your operations with greater confidence and control.
